When I used to work with seed beads, I made elaborate bracelets using enameled and Czech glass buttons. The bracelets were fun to make but took a tremendous amount of time. The teeny tiny seed beads were hard on my eyes, thus I don’t use them often anymore to make jewelry. Here are a few photos of some of my oldies but goodies:
These buttons are called Clossine. They were originally made in late 1800s by an Italian company. Each button is made of multiple layers of different materials such as enamel, metal and crystal. I decided to adorn it simply to allow the focus to be the lovely Clossine piece.
This gorgeous glass Tulip button has a delicate opal and gold luster, the details are exquisite! I accented it with moonstone and gold Czech beads with two delicate buttons used as clasps.

Anyway, I decided that these lovely buttons that remain should be unearthed and included in my newest jewelry.
Asters in Amethyst Necklace This beautiful glass button was made by artisans in the region of Bohemia, Czech Republic. They are pressed from vintage molds and then ground, painted, and painstakingly detailed by hand. I framed it with brass filigree pieces, delicate ametrine rondelles and pale lavender pearls to enhance the Czech workmanship.
Begonia Garden Necklace This delightful glass Czech button has a delicate opal and gold luster. I accented it with dainty moonstones and gray pearls.
